Raw honey, from our British apiary
Genuinely British raw honey — unpasteurised, unblended and traceable to the hive. Never heated to lose its character, never mixed with imported syrup. Just honey, the way the bees made it.
Raw British honey vs supermarket honey
In 2023 an EU investigation found the majority of imported blended honey samples entering the UK were suspected of being adulterated with sugar syrups. Single-origin British honey with a real country-of-origin label is a different product entirely — here's how ours compares.
| Our raw honey | Typical supermarket blend | |
|---|---|---|
| Origin | Single UK apiary, batch-traceable | “Blend of honeys from more than one country” |
| Processing | Unpasteurised, cold-strained | Heated & fine-filtered |
| Pollen & enzymes | Retained | Largely removed |
| Crystallises naturally | Yes (a good sign) | Often kept artificially runny |
| Traceability | Harvest year + batch on every jar | None on the label |

Raw honey FAQ
What is raw honey?
Raw honey is honey that has not been heated above hive temperature or fine-filtered. It keeps the natural pollen, enzymes and aromas that pasteurisation and heavy filtering strip out, so it tastes of the flowers and season it came from.
How is raw honey different from supermarket honey?
Most inexpensive supermarket honey is a blend of honeys from more than one country, heated and filtered for a uniform look and long shelf life. Our honey is single-origin British, unpasteurised and unblended — harvested on our own apiary and traceable by batch.
Is your honey really British?
Yes. Every jar is honey we harvest from our own hives in the UK. We label the country of origin and a harvest year and batch on each product so you can trace exactly what you are buying.
Why has my raw honey set or crystallised?
Crystallisation is completely natural and a good sign of genuine raw honey — it is not a fault. To return set honey to a runny texture, stand the jar in warm (not hot) water; avoid overheating, which would undo what makes it raw.
How should I store raw honey, and does it expire?
Keep it in a sealed jar at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Stored this way honey keeps extremely well. We still print a best-before date on every jar in line with UK labelling rules.
Is raw honey suitable for everyone?
Honey should not be given to infants under 12 months. Allergen information is shown on every product. If you have a medical condition or allergy, please check with a healthcare professional.
